Sat, Aug 15: Pre-Campout Speaker Series—Falcons! • 1:00PM—3:30PM Sat • Ashurst Run, Flying M Ranch
All ages are invited to this multi –speaker series to hear all about falcons. Stay afterwards for our Annual Campout (more Campout details HERE)! Please bring your own chair and/or blanket. Masks are required if 6 feet of distance cannot be maintained. *See below for COVID-19 Safety Protocol.*

  • 1:00pm: “Twenty Years of Species Recovery - What to do with what we’ve learned” by Chris Parish, Director of Global Conservation for The Peregrine Fund

  • 2:00pm: “Raptors and the Role They Play in Our Landscape”, by Michele Losee, PhD, Founder and President of the International Raptor Falconry Center

  • 3:00pm: Following the falcon speakers, there will be an opportunity for a round table discussion about falcons, Diablo Trust, working landscapes, etc. Any inquiries welcome!

Catered dinner around the fire at 5:30PM. Catered breakfast on Sunday. All ages welcome!

Directions to Ashurst Run from Flagstaff: Head south on FH3/Lake Mary Road. Then turn left onto FR125/Kinnikinick Lake Road. Follow signs for “Diablo Trust” for about 2 miles.

COVID-19 Safety Protocols for the 2020 Annual Campout and Pre-Campout Speaker Series

In order to keep all attendees safe and to adhere to the requirements put forth in Governor Ducey’s Executive Order 2020-43 and Coconino County’s Proclamation and Declaration of Emergency, the following safety measures will be in place for the duration of the event:

  • If you feel sick, stay home.

  • Upon arrival and check-in at the event location, all individual’s temperature will be taken with a contactless temperature gun and asked a series of screening questions. If an individual’s temperature greater than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or symptoms are present, the individual will be prohibited from joining the event.

  • *Pursuant to Executive Order 2020-43, the event will be limited to no more than 50 people.

  • Pursuant to the Coconino County Proclamation, all individuals older than 2 years of age must wear face coverings at all times while attending the event if another non-household person is less than 6 feet away and when waiting in line indoors and outdoors.

  • Face coverings must be worn while standing in line, even outdoors.

  • Face coverings must be worn while standing in line for the meal line and while receiving food in the meal line, even if a 6-foot distance is maintained.

  • Non-household individuals must be at least 6 feet apart during times of eating and drinking.

*If Executive Order 2020-43 is modified or lifted, the event will comply with the new gathering size changes.
